Did you know that…

1. Approximately 2 million children in Uganda have been orphaned by civil war and the AIDS epidemic.

2. 15 million children have lost one or both parents to AIDS – more than 23 million are in sub-Saharan Africa.

3. Half the population of Uganda is under the age of 15 (*UNAIDS stats)

4. 8,000 people die everyday because of AIDS-related illnesses – more than 6,000 of those live in Africa.

5. AIDS is now the biggest single cause of death among children under the age of five.

     My church, Oasis Christian Center, has partnered with the Watoto Ministries to gain victory in the fight against the devastating impact of AIDS and poverty on the people of Uganda. Watoto provides holistic, residential care for orphaned and vulnerable children with the core vision to rescue a Child, raise a Leader and rebuild a Nation. Through the generosity of people from around the world, Watoto has given life and HOPE to many children, but there is a lot more that needs to be done!

     In an effort to help, this December, Oasis is sending a team of volunteers to bring Christmas, build a much needed classroom and bring basic necessities to over 2,000 orphans and widows. I have decided to join Oasis' team of volunteers, but I need to raise at least $3500.00 by September 25th or I won't be able to participate. It is no question that I truly NEED YOUR HELP! NO amount is too small. I can't do it without you... I need YOU to sponsor me and make a difference in the lives of over 2,000 orphans and widows in Africa.
